Malic acid, a carboxylic acid most found in fruits, is a smooth taste substance used as flavoring and preservative agent in foods, although not as used as citric acid. There are no studies focusing in quantitative results or investigations on its physicochemical properties, useful to the food industry, or even the confirmation of its calcium chelating, buffer texturizer and antioxidant alleged properties. Thus, the aim of this work was the assessment of most physicochemical properties of malic acid, solid and in solution, that could be useful to the food industry understand its real potential. The following analyses were carried out: melting point; structure (NMR, XRD, FTIR and SEM/EDS); TGA/DTG; solubility, hygroscopicity; antioxidant activity, iron chelating and antibacterial activities and stability of pectin gels. The melting temperature found was 129.71 °C. TGA/DTG exhibited first loss of mass around 140 °C. In the temperature range of 10 to 55 °C, it exhibited a high solubility in water, from 48.12 to 61.49 (100w), respectively. The tested bacteria, related to food spoilage, were inhibited by DL-malic acid 10% or higher. Chelating and antioxidant activities showed expressive results even in 1% solution. Pectin gels with malic acid had stronger structure and less syneresis than citric acid gels. In addition, calcium chelating, buffer texturizer and antioxidant properties were confirmed. Thus, malic acid has potential to be applied in a wide variety of food products as fortified beverages, frozen and refrigerated items, oils, pectin gels, hard and soft candies, and biofilms, due to all the characteristics quantified.  相似文献

The pharmaceutical industry has a pervasive need for chiral specific molecules with optimal affinity for their biological targets. However, the mass production of such compounds is currently limited by conventional chemical routes, that are costly and have an environmental impact. Here, we propose an easy access to obtain new tetrahydroquinolines, a motif found in many bioactive compounds, that is rapid and cost effective. Starting from simple raw materials, the procedure uses a proline-catalyzed Mannich reaction followed by the addition of BF3 ⋅ OEt2, which generates a highly electrophilic aza-ortho-quinone methide intermediate capable of reacting with different nucleophiles to form the diversely functionalized tetrahydroquinoline. Moreover, this enantioselective one-pot process provides access for the first time to tetrahydroquinolines with a cis-2,3 and trans-3,4 configuration. As proof of concept, we demonstrate that a three-step reaction sequence, from simple and inexpensive starting compounds and catalysts, can generate a BD2-selective BET bromodomain inhibitor with anti-inflammatory effect.  相似文献

We study a simple model based upon the Lucas framework where heterogeneous agents behave rationally in a fully intertemporal setting but do not know other investors' personal preferences, wealth or investment portfolios. As a consequence, agents initially do not know the equilibrium asset pricing function and must make guesses, which they update via adaptive learning with constant gain. We demonstrate that even in this simple environment the economy can, depending on parameters, exhibit either stable convergence to equilibrium, or chaotic dynamical behavior of asset prices and trading volume without converging to the rational expectations equilibrium of the Lucas model. This contradicts the assertion that the Lucas model is stable in the face of modest deviations from the strong assumptions required to compute the equilibrium. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of Mn(II) aminophosphonate complexes were successfully synthesized and intercalated into the hydroxy double salt [Zn5(OH)8]Cl2·yH2O. Complex incorporation led to an increase in the interlayer spacing from 7.8 to 10–12 Å. Infrared spectroscopy showed the presence of the characteristic vibration peaks of the Mn(II) complexes in the intercalates' spectra, indicating successful incorporation. The complex-loaded composites had somewhat lower proton relaxivities than the pure complexes. Nevertheless, these intercalates may have use as MRI contrast agents for patients with poor kidney function, where traditional Gd(III)-based contrast agents cause severe renal failure.  相似文献

Porous silica-based microspheres encapsulating aqueous glycerol can be potential curing agents for one-component foams (OCFs). Such agents have the advantage of an enhanced sustainability profile on top of being environmentally friendly materials. A synthetically convenient and scalable sol-gel process was used to make silica and organosilica microspheres doped with aqueous glycerol. These methyl-modified silica microspheres, named “GreenCaps”, exhibit remarkable physical and chemical stability. The microspheres were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy at reduced pressure, and cryogenic nitrogen adsorption—desorption analysis. The structure of the materials was also analyzed at the molecular level by diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy. As expected, the degree of methylation affects the degree of encapsulation and pore structure. Microspheres similarly methylated, however, can differ considerably in surface area and pore size due to the templating effect of glycerol on the organosilica structure. The results of the structure analysis reveal that glycerol is efficiently encapsulated, acts as a template, barely leaches over time, but is released by depressurization. A proper application of these microspheres can later on enhance both the environmental and health profile, as well as the technical performance (curing speed, foam quality, and froth thixotropy) of spray polyurethane foams.  相似文献

This paper focuses on a distributed optimization problem associated with a time‐varying multi‐agent network with quantized communication, where each agent has local access to its convex objective function, and cooperatively minimizes a sum of convex objective functions of the agents over the network. Based on subgradient methods, we propose a distributed algorithm to solve this problem under the additional constraint that agents can only communicate quantized information through the network. We consider two kinds of quantizers and analyze the quantization effects on the convergence of the algorithm. Furthermore, we provide explicit error bounds on the convergence rates that highlight the dependence on the quantization levels. Finally, some simulation results on a l1‐regression problem are presented to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The synthesis of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) of low molar mass under safe conditions is difficult due to the high polymerization rate of acrylic acid (AA) and the fast heat generation. The aqueous‐solution “semibatch” polymerization of non‐ionized AA in almost starved conditions involves high initiator loads when low molar masses are required. This article proposes the simultaneous feeding of AA and nonconventional chain transfer agents (CTA) as a strategy aimed at controlling both the molar masses and the generated heat rate. Three CTAs are investigated: 2‐mercaptoethanol, thioglycolic acid, and isopropyl alcohol. Even when PAA of relatively low molar mass can be produced by adequately selecting the flow rates and concentrations of both AA and CTA, it is found that the nature of CTA can have a significant effect on the polymerizations kinetics. The mechanisms responsible for these effects are discussed with the help of a representative mathematical model.

Green colored single crystals of a reduced sodium vanadium(III) monohydrogenphosphate, NaV(HPO4)2, were grown using a one-step mild hydrothermal method. The in situ reduction of V5+ to V3+ was performed using copper acetate as the reducing agent. The title compound crystalizes in the monoclinic space group Cc and exhibits a three-dimensional crystal structure that consists of distorted VO6 octahedra connected to PO3(OH) tetrahedra that are further connected via Na cations. The compound exhibits simple paramagnetic behavior at high temperatures and a discontinuity near 5 K is likely due to the onset of magnetic coupling. The compound was also characterized by TGA, IR and UV–vis spectroscopies.  相似文献

建立了安检流程的网络流模型,模型中包含了不稳定的乘客到达情形、嫌疑乘客以及反馈机制。分析了安检过程中的瓶颈所在,并给出了相应的优化方案,包括整个安检过程的通行规则,A区和B区内部预检节点与普通节点的适当比例等。仿真结果显示,为了充分利用安检资源并兼顾预检乘客的利益,通行规则应采用连通方案。依照统计数据中计算出的各种参数,在A区预检节点和普通节点比例设置为2∶2,B区预检节点和普通节点比例设置为3∶5的情况下,旅客平均等待时间最短,等待时间的标准差也最小,同时高峰期的通行量也相对较优。进一步分析了不同的文化背景及机场情况。对于美国人和瑞士人,通过改变预检乘客的选择概率来满足他们不同的行为偏好。仿真结果说明,预检乘客选择哪类节点进行安检对平均等待时间、等待时间的标准差和高峰期通行量的影响不大。分析了插队情形,插队对平均等待时间和高峰期通行量几乎没有影响,但当插队比例非常大时,旅客等待时间标准差会增加,影响乘客到达的准确性。最后,针对具体情况提出了一些合理的建议,并给出了进一步的研究计划。  相似文献

The development of multimodal molecular imaging contrast agents based on versatile nanomaterials has recently attracted much attention in disease diagnosis and therapeutic delivery. Contrast agents made from nanoparticles and used for multimodal imaging in vivo provide a multidimensional pathophysiological overview of diseases. This review summarizes recently developed advanced nanomaterials for multimodal molecular imaging. We comprehensively discuss these nanoparticle contrast agents in terms of their targeting modalities, limitations in clinical translation and future directions.  相似文献
